With Earth Day this past week, I’ve been discovering so many Earth Day ideas and wanted to pass them along to you guys.
I’ve put together a highlights list of some great new tidbits and some companies that have Earth Day ideas and everyday green ideas. Let me know if you stop by any of these and/or try them out.
- Hooplaha: Life with a Smile is running #GivingVine, which utilizes the new Vine app to record acts of kindness. Highlight your Earth Day ideas and green efforts on video and upload them to Vine, which links with Twitter. Be sure to pop by and follow me on both apps.
- Get inspired for your garden this season by swinging by Topiarius’s Pinterest boards here and here. Topiarius is a prominent Chicago landscape design company and Scott Sullivan’s designs are motivating for every gardener to get some dirt under his/her fingernails while creating a masterpiece in the garden.
- Do you hang out over on StumbleUpon? I’ve just started my own page and have been checking out their gardening suggestions. You can search through what’s trending on their site for gardening with topics like trees, topiaries and wildflowers. Take your time to enjoy sifting through the posts and find some Earth Day ideas that fit your garden.
- Are you spring cleaning your linens this week by transferring some to the rag pile and refreshing your supply? We did last year and grabbed Coyuchi towels. Organic cotton, fair trade produced, and recently awarded with Global Organic Textile Standard certification, these towels not only are green and mindfully produced, but they are luxurious and comfy. They are sturdy and long lasting too and we will definitely be back for more.
- With Tomato’s recent peanut allergy diagnosis, finding quick snacks with high quality organic ingredients, but not processed in a facility with peanuts, has been our weekly grocery store investigation. I was thrilled that we could keep Annie’s snacks in the house to munch on crackers and bunny fruit snacks. They have also partnered with the non-GMO project and are a founding partner in the Just Label It campaign, so this mama is happy to support such efforts while giving my kid quality snacks.
- If you are looking for ways to recycle your electronics, pop over to NextWorth and see if you can earn some cash for your old electronics. You can either mail them in or see if your local Target is a drop off point.
- Finally, if you are starting to look for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day gifts for the green living folks in your life (or trying to make a wishlist for yourself this spring), check out the sale at Abe’s Market this week. Take up to 50% off hundreds of products!
Have fun playing through these new links and enjoy the day!

That settles it, I’ve been debating joining Vine. Looks like I’ve got a reason now. Hope you had a wonderful Earth Day.
Hope you had a good Earth Day too!
Thanks for all the suggestions across a variety of interests and platforms. I’m on Vine but have yet to use it– this just might be my chance. 🙂
I downloaded it this weekend and can’t wait to start using it.
Life with a smile! LOVE that. Totally looking it up right this second. I love things that make this world a better place. Thank you for this great list.
Your welcome! I am looking forward to seeing all of the entries and I think they have a great thing going.
Great stuff, and so nice to know that about Annie’s! Love that 🙂 And really important since we try to eat safely around here.
It’s nice to have a quick option. Be sure to check each box for labeling though as they do have some allergens or are processed in facilities that may also process some allergens.
Thanks for the great list! And for the reminder that Earth Day is more than just a day!
You’re welcome, Carrie! Enjoy the week!
