Longwood Gardens Orchid Extravaganza

by Becky Elmuccio on March 5, 2013

I am excited to share some photos that I took at Longwood Gardens this weekend during the Longwood Gardens Orchid Extravaganza. As a Star Blogger for them, I am loving the opportunity to see the gardens during every season. Winter is especially gorgeous in the conservatory with the Orchid Extravaganza. The colors and textures were marvelous and it was a treat to introduce Tomato to these gorgeous flowers. My mother in law went with us and she had a blast teaching Tomato about her favorite flowers. We also had a great time walking through the gardens and climbing in the treehouses. It is definitely a family friendly destination. There is one more ORKID day left to take kids on March 16th (noon to 3pm) and enjoy crafts, a family concert, and a Winter Wonder Hunt through the grounds.

This year, Longwood is allowing folks to Go Beyond the Garden Gate and check out the inner workings of the gardens. Check out the video below to see what I mean.

So, are you inspired and ready to get your hands in the dirt to garden soon? I am more than ready and the fact that the sun was actually out in NJ today leaves me itching to start. Stay away snow and let me begin!

What are you most excited about with your gardens this year? Do you have any local gardens that inspire you like Longwood inspires me? Link up your best green, eco-friendly, gardening and real food posts below and be sure to check out what everyone else is doing.

Disclosure: I have been compensated by Longwood Gardens for this post. All floral excitement and enjoyment are my own.

My parents just went to Longwood Gardens and my mom just sent me a bunch of pictures of the orchids- they are amazing! Next time we head east to visit my mom is planning to take us to check it out 🙂

My husband grew up going to Longwood Gardens!

I have orchids and I kill them–but then again I get them from Home Depot for next to nothing (in hopes that I can use the pot when then do die)–I would love to have one that actually did bloom again!

Be Blessed.

Thanks for the invite to your Linky Party 🙂

I love, love, love orchids…but have a bit of a hard time keeping them alive. My daughter, on the other hand, seems to have the magic touch 🙂 Maybe she can teach me!
