New Garden Layout

by Becky Elmuccio on February 5, 2013

As we inch into February, those of us who are home gardeners begin to itch with excitement for the new gardening season. Yesterday, I sketched out what I think we can do with the garden and backyard this year. There will be some new adaptations to the big bed. We have an old garage that will have some work done it in March, and because it is old, we need to test for lead in the soil. It is possible to remedy the soil if that is the case, so we’ll see what we need to do. I’ll also be looking into doing a bunch for flower beds this year, which is very exciting for me. I can’t wait to add some color to the yard!

So, do you have plans for your garden in place yet? Are you looking to grow more foods so you can be more local? Remember that today’s Locavore Challenge is asking us to share our local meals, so be sure to post them to Instagram or Twitter and use #locavorechallenge and @greenerpartners and @longviewmarket to connect.

I still haven’t ordered my seeds yet, nor have DH and I figured out what we’re doing. I do have plenty of money saved for mulching. I want to reduce the weeding as much as possible!

Looks awesome! I wish I had a place to have a garden! I can’t wait until we have our own house and not a rental. 🙂

I’m sorry, my brain is slow this morning. I put my name instead of the title of my post! Here’s the title…Chick Days. I tried to fix it but couldn’t. 😉

That is an awesome layout! I wish I had a green thumb. I would love to grow my own herbs and veggies.
