I have a lovely collection of cookbooks. They have gorgeous spines and covers, divine photographs and delicious recipes within. But, I rarely use them. I have read some cover to cover and reveled in the stories that they share and their ingredient lists. I love them, I admire them, but I have used them only sparingly. So, my next goal for 2013 is to use them and use them thoroughly. As I begin to do meal planning to help us eat healthy, manage our budget and decrease our food waste, I will be starting to pull these off the shelf. My goal is to use one a week. I’m not sure which one I will start with next week, and maybe I’ll just close my eyes and point. But, they shall be used! There are too many good recipes waiting to graze our lips to not utilize them.
What are some of your favorite cookbooks? Do you have any cooking goals for 2013?

I love Tyler Florence’s Family Meal and any dessert cookbooks. We’re planning to make our own for family recipes this year, so that will definitely be my favorite after it’s done.
I haven’t tried that Tyler Florence one Jeannette. I will have to check it out. My husband’s aunt made a family cookbook last year for the holidays. It is so fun to have in order to keep for future generations.
I love cookbooks but I only check out cookbooks now so I can minimize spending. I also ask for cookbooks to review or I get emails about reviewing. This is the only way I do it. My cookbooks at the moment are still all packed up cause we do not have shelf space in our new place. Boo!
I hope you can find space soon!
Great idea! When we moved I donated all mine to our then local library, I didn’t use them at all. Some days I miss them, but there are so many recipes online now.
Yes. I feel like I will need to do a Pinterest cook down at some point too. But, I still love a good cookbook to get the stories that go with the dishes.
I have a ton of cookbooks that I never use! Thanks for the reminder to dig them out!
No problem! Best of luck with using them.
