Badger Lip Tint & Shimmer Review

As the winter weather settles into the Philadelphia area, my skin and lips tend to become dry. It’s a combination of the weather, the radiator heat in our house and me needing to drink more water (on the New Year’s Resolution list for 2013). So,  I have been through my fair share of lip balms and lipsticks and lip tints over the years.

Color me happy, when the folks at Badger Balm offered to send me one of their new lip tints to try out for the fall. I was happy to meet up with the folks from Badger at the Natural Products Expo this September. We have been avid users of their sunscreens for the past few years, and highly recommend the baby and kids’ sunscreens for your little ones. I had a wonderful talk with their marketing manager, Jentri Provenzano, and found that Badger is not only a company to turns out quality products, but also is run by quality people who take their time to get their products right for their customers.

The new Lip Tint & Shimmer has been requested by customers for a while, and Badger was happy to launch it this fall. I was able to try out the Garnet lip tint color and found it to be subtle and not overpowering when applied. The minerals used in the tint are safe and pharmaceutical grade and the base of the tint and shimmer includes organic olive oil, organic aloe, and Fair Trade Certified organic Cocoa Butter. The shimmer end itself is a great color and you can wear just that or combine it with the tint for a nice result. There are no added fragrances, just the naturally occurring fragrance of the cocoa butter, and it contains organic extracts of Seabuckthorn, Rosehip and Rosemary, which are all powerful antioxidants for your lips. Overall, I have been very pleased with the color and how long my lips stay moisturized. Also, the color does not come off after eating a meal, which as a mom on the go, I really appreciate.

In addition to the lip tint, some of the other products that I have tried from their line include the Lavender Sleep Balm.

This has been a great addition to my nighttime routine on those nights when I anticipate my brain will not stop once it hits the pillow. With the lavender balm rubbed into my temples, I can breathe in the benefits of the lavender aromatherapy and drift off to sleep.

I have also been keeping the Cocoa Butter Lip Balm in my coat pocket and my purse and it is definitely coming in handy this fall and winter. One good swipe of this balm and my lips are good to go for several hours.

So, if you are looking to find some quality winter weather products from a company that cares about its employees and customers, check out the W.S. Badger Company and see what they have to offer. The company recently transferred its offices to a new building in New Hampshire and they are creating an Ecology Center on site to host gardening seminars to help their community “live closer to the earth.” Sounds like this gardener’s kind of place. Badger products can be found in stores by using the store locator or by ordering online at www.badgerbalm.com. Stocking stuffer ideas abound on the site and they have great gift sets to grab for the holiday season. Finally, if you are in their area, check out the details below for their Friends & Family Factory Sale!

Disclosure: I was provided with the above mentioned products for review and enjoyment. My opinions and admiration for what this company produces are my own.

I’ll definitely look for these. Anything that doesn’t wear off while eating is always great in my book.

Personally, since I need to replace my makeup, I’m going to challenge myself to replace it with green products. Lipstick is a good place to start.

I put the Natural Products Expo on my calendar for next September.

I have been wanting to buy their sunscreen for my kids. I’ll have to check up the lip balm for myself as well.

The sunscreen is great, doesn’t wear off to quickly at the beach or pool and it’s clear where you have applied it so you don’t miss any spots.

I also wanted to mention that I love how all the products are natural; a boon in these toxic chemical times.

A bunch of stores in the Philly area carry them, Gina. So, they should be easy to pick up.

I’m thrilled I had a chance to try the other products too. I’ll have to give the gardening balms a go this spring.
