One of my favorite things to do with the Tomato is to explore Philadelphia and try new things together.

So, when my Philly Social Media Moms group was invited by TD Bank to try a yoga class at Dhyana Yoga, I was happy to sign up. That’s me up there with the ponytail, second back on the left. TD Bank sponsored the class and spoke about their flexibility as a bank. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they have some great green initiatives too, such as belonging to the Boise Closed Loop program to keep paper out of landfills, having a LEED-CI Platinum contact center in Maine, and protecting forests through their TD Forests program.
Tomato was able to tag along and I am happy to say that it has opened up a new activity for us to do at home. She loves to show everyone how to do downward dog, tree and chair poses, and we are working on cat. It’s a fun way to get the wiggles out and take a break if I find either of us has grown frustrated or bored at home. I will definitely be looking for some yoga pose cards for kids to see what we can learn together. I do yoga as part of my P90X series and have done a class here and there, so I understand the benefit of slowing down, stretching and finding a place of calm. I am happy to pass that opportunity along to my little one.
Have you done yoga with your kids? Do you have any good resources to recommend?
Disclosure: TD Bank sponsored the yoga class, but all opinions are my own.

First off, I love that you call your daughter Tomato.
Second, the class was great. I think I am definitively going to add yoga to the mix. I felt strong and really good after.

I haven’t done yoga yet. I heard something nice about TD Bank yesterday. While I was sitting at a soccer game, my friend, who was with me, was texted a photo of flowers by her sister. Turns out TD Bank sent these beautiful flowers as a thank you for refinancing a mortgage with them. That’s customer service!
Looks like it was an awesome experience! What a great activity to do with your little one…I’ll have to try it with mine!

I saw this event but unfortunately it was during work hours for me. Sounds like it was a great event. I would love to try yoga with my son!
I just got some yoga dvds in the mail, we don’t have any yoga studios close to me but I’ve been wanting to do more than just the yoga on the wii 🙂
When Charlie was a newborn, I took him to some outdoor yoga classes and he’d lay on the blanket under me. He’s 15 months old now which is WAY too busy of an age to do yoga with him, haha. But I’m excited for the day when he can participate again!
My younger daughter does yoga all the time. We do have the Storyland Yoga DVD and the girls think that is fun.
