This week, we had a warm day when I was able to plant the two blueberry bushes that we bought at the Burpee Garden tour. I paired one with the semi-alive front bush in hopes that it will encourage it next year. As you can see in the series below, I dug the holes, filled them with a blend of sand and Organic Mechanic soil and popped them in.
I am thinking of establishing a long bed to connect all of the blueberrry bushes and put some perennials in for flowers in between. I’ll have to do some research to see what will work together.

This is one thing I want to start growing….just seems so expensive to start up.
Plants were between $10 to $30 a piece. Not too crazy considering they are perennials.
A friend of mine from LLL is going to give me some of her blueberry plants to try growing on our farm. I can’t wait!
We love having them, Leah! So much fun to pick breakfast in the morning.
Cool, I Need to check the past week projects. I would love to plant a blueberry bush here.
Thanks for stopping by Kelley!
Thanks for the linky! Looking forward to checking out the other posts.
Glad to have you, Charise!
Yum! Blueberries are one of my favorite. I have one planted right now in a pot on my patio. It started off great, but then the birds got to them! I have to remember to prevent that next year:) Now I am inspired to plant some more!
Good luck with it next year, Lauryn! The more you plant, the more chance you stand of actually getting some before the birds. 🙂
Interesting! Thank you for sharing and for hosting this link up! Great resource!
Happy word-pressing 🙂

Thanks, Beth! Hopefully the WP switch is a smooth one. 🙂
Thanks for hosting, Becky. I planted some very small low bush blueberries and some raspberries. I have such little light that it’s hard to find the right space and everything is so slow growing. But, I did get a few raspberries to pick this year.
