What’s my best laundry tips?
With cloth diapers and three family member’s worth of laundry to do, I have been finding my way in my system. I’ve got it down now, so these are my 3 top tips for laundry.
Organization – We’ve been through a number of different baskets and bins, and everything just kept overflowing and I just kept getting behind. Recently, I went to The Container Store in order to find a new type of basket that we could use in the laundry room and was also a little different in its style.

Enter these great industrial style hampers! Super interesting in their style and the handles make them so easy to carry. We have two sets so that darks and whites can be separated in our bedroom and in the laundry room. When the laundry room one is empty, I switch it out upstairs. Tomato has her own hamper, so I run her clothes separately from ours unless I need to make a full load.
Washing – We always wash on cold, except for a round on the cloth diapers and the sheets, to save expenses. I love to use Charlie’s Soap. It’s simple, clean and free of all the chemical junk. It’s also super light for the cloth diapers so there is no residue when you are finished cleaning.
Drying – We do not have a good spot for a line in the backyard, so we do use the dryer each day. I have a dry rack in the basement for delicates and cloth diaper covers, but everything else pops into the dryer. I stopped using dryer sheets over a decade ago and have made a number of my own dryer balls following these directions. They work well, keep the chemicals out of the washing cycles and are reusable.
So, those are my basic tips. What are your best tips to share?

I love that hamper! I always rinse my diapers with vinegar after I wash them….helps with odor b/c i use unscented eco friendly detergent.
