We’ve been on break here at the house, so we are busily getting projects taken care of and garden beds set up. I promise to post more pictures of that process and our decisions about what to grow this year, but I wanted to pop in really quickly and share one of my favorite finds in the past year.
One of my favorite living locally inspirations is Canal House Cooks Lunch. Once you sign up, a daily email is delivered to your inbox that shows what the ladies, Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton, are making for lunch. The photography is beautiful, the food is tantalizing and knowing that they are doing it all while shopping seasonally and sourcing locally as much as possible is such motivation for this blogger. Check out this video from Bon Appetit to get an idea of the happiness that these ladies bring to cooking and some great ideas for spring celebration meals.

You can also check out their blog, Life at Canal House, or purchase their cookbooks, which I constantly drool over at Terrain. The lunch email is a great way to get introduced to their style of cooking and have a little happiness delivered to your inbox. They are currently cleaning out their freezers to make room for the new season’s foods, so hop on over to see what nuggets emerge and be aware of what you can preserve in your freezer to enjoy local foods over the winter.

Oh! I’m excited to hear more about your garden! I’ve never seen Canal House — off to check them out! 🙂
Canal House is super yummy and super inspirational, Valerie! I’ll be posting some garden pics on Monday to show what we’ve got so far.
